Description
Templates allow you to setup a subset of users within your business and have specific rules configured to all within them. This could be based on country, department, role, or a combination of these.
This video covers how to create a new template from scratch, or from copying an existing template. It also covers the settings listed below and items that can be applied or removed at this level:
- System settings (Example Calendar Year)
- Assigning System Roles (Example – Standard Authoriser, which is often a line manager)
- User Rota Patterns (Shift pattern)
- Public holidays
- Leave and absence type settings (Example – Notice periods)
- Overtime and TOIL settings
- Entitlement updates
Example Configurations
Ott & Grant have offices in Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. As the country configuration and labour laws differ, they will need to create templates for each Country office. When individual users are applied to these office templates, they will then have the correct configuration and rules based on where they work.
As an example, Tina and Ivan are two new starters at Ott & Grant this month. Tina works in Germany and Ivan works in the Netherlands. For staff at the office in Germany, users are given 5 days sickness leave per calendar year, whereas in the Netherlands they do not have a specified limit to the number of days taken in a calendar year. Assigning Tina to the Germany template will give her an allocation of 5 days leave she can take per year for sickness and Ivan will not have these limitations in place on his system.
