Statutory annual leave is a legal entitlement given to employees. It grants them the right to paid time off from work. The amount of time employees receive varies from country to country, with some governments mandating a generous number of days off per year, and others requiring much fewer. You can visit our Global Compliance Hub to see how statutory annual leave allowances vary around the world.

As long as the minimum statutory entitlement is met, individual employers are able to offer more paid time off to their employees if they wish, as a way of attracting and retaining talent.
