Additional information
Annual leave
All employees get 30 days’ paid leave a year. Employees must take at least 15 of these days as paid leave, but they have the option to cash out the remaining 15.
Sick leave
In terms of sick leave, employers pay for the first 20 days of an employee’s sick pay, with the state taking over payments for longer-term illnesses.
Maternity and paternity leave
The state also pays mothers their full salary for up to 98 days’ maternity leave. There are no statutory laws for shared parental leave, but new fathers can take up to 10 days’ paternity leave, which is paid for by the employer.
