Working patterns

In the Czechia, working shifts cannot exceed 12 hours. Overtime is generally discouraged, and it cannot exceed 150 hours in any calendar year. Overtime pay is set at 125% of a worker’s regular pay. Weekend work and night shifts are compensated at 110% of an employee’s regular wages. If employees work over holidays, they’re entitled to their wages plus time off in lieu.

Sick leave

In terms of sick pay, workers get 60% of their regular wages for the first 14 days of sick leave.

Maternity and paternity leave

Czech women get 28 weeks of maternity leave, or 37 weeks if they have twins or triplets. 7 weeks following the birth, the father can take the mother’s maternity leave in lieu of paternity leave.
