Sick leave
Australian employees can take up to 10 days’ sick leave each year. They can use this same leave to take care of family members.
Maternity and paternity leave
After 12 months spent working for the same employer, mothers can take up to 12 months of unpaid maternity leave. Fathers can take up to 5 days’ unpaid leave after birth or adoption. Employees in Australia are also entitled to 2 day’s paid leave for bereavement.
